Nines RL tournament

THE build up to the planned new Cumbria Under-18 league starts on Sunday with a special Nines RL tournament at Egremont Rangers.
The host club, plus Wath Brow, Kells, Millom, Walney and Barrow Island will take part at the weekend, with Carlisle possibly being involved when the league competition kicks off early next month.
“Hopefully after the summer holidays, Carlisle will get the numbers in,” said league chairman Sam Bailey.
“But there will 90 lads on the field who otherwise wouldn’t be playing age group rugby.”
The action starts at 11am and the adjacent cricket clubhouse will be open for refreshments.
