WAR veteran fundraiser Mark Harding attended a charity event at the Tower of London.

The event was organised by the Army Benevolent Fund which supports people across the world.

Mark was severely injured whilst serving in Afghanistan after he was shot in the neck.

It severely damaged his spine, and he was told that he would never walk again.

Since then, he has regained some of his mobility and now dedicates his time to raising money for causes close to his heart.

Mr Harding said: "Last night's event was truly awe-inspiring as I witnessed the Army Benevolent Fund. Their unwavering dedication and support have made a profound impact on the lives of 70,000 individuals across 45 countries.

"It is remarkable to see this organization's commitment to offering grants to individuals and families, as well as funding reputable organizations, demonstrating their genuine care for soldiers, former soldiers, and their families.

"They understand the importance of standing by those who have sacrificed so much for our safety and freedom.

"Attending the special ABF event at the Tower of London was a remarkable experience. Sharing my incredible life story, 16 years of British Army service with tours in Bosnia Kosovo Northern Ireland, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

"Even after 13 years since injury, it showcased the lasting impact it had on me and those around me. It was a testament to the power of resilience and the ability to overcome challenges.

"The evening was made even more memorable by the wise words of Colonel Tim Collins OBE who Served 23 years in the regular army with the Royal Irish Regiment and the Special Air Service on operations including the first and second Iraq Wars, Bosnia, Northern Ireland and several classified theatres, a renowned military speechwriter.

"His insights provided valuable perspective and inspiration, reinforcing the importance of unity, and courage.

"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Steve Thornton and the Army Benevolent Fund for organizing such an unforgettable and thought-provoking evening.

"Together, let us continue to uplift and empower the army family, ensuring that their sacrifices are never forgotten."
