A pizza restaurant in West Cumbria has been given a new food hygiene rating.

After an assessment on October 12, Portobello Wood Fired on Senhouse Street in Maryport was given a four out of five score, also known as a 'good' grade, according to the Food Standards Agency website.

The report described the restaurant's hygienic food handling, and the management of food safety, to be very good.

The cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were found to be 'generally satisfactory'.

This new rating means that of the Cumberland Council area's 561 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 471 (84 per cent) have ratings of five, and none have zero ratings.
