WAR veteran fundraiser Mark Harding has announced the amount he has raised for Scotty's Little Soldiers.

Mark was severely injured whilst serving in the military after being shot in the neck in Afghanistan.

He was told he would never walk again after the injury severely damaged his spine.

Since then, he has regained some of his mobility and now raises money for worthy causes.

In a challenge this year he walked from John O' Groats to Lands' End for Scotty's Little Soldiers, who support bereaved children whose parents served in the military.

He has managed to raise over £30,000 for the cause.

Mr Harding said: "My walk was not solely about personal achievement. It was about shining a light on the incredible work of Scotty Little Soldiers, an organization dedicated to supporting bereaved military children and their grieving parents.

"Throughout my journey, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the impact that Scotty Little Soldiers has on these children's lives.

"Their unwavering commitment to providing support, love, and hope is truly inspiring. And I am humbled to have been able to contribute to their cause by raising £30,400."

At an event last week, Mark met the founder of the charity and thanked the team for supporting him throughout the walk.

He added: "During the Scotty's ball last week, I had the honor of meeting Nikki Scott, the founder of Scotty Little Soldiers, and the remarkable team that supported me throughout my walk. Their dedication and compassion towards bereaved military children touched my heart deeply.

"But my journey doesn't end here. On December 6, I will be traveling to Singapore to share my story with the British High Commission and function at the British Club.

"I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can inspire others to join me in supporting Scotty Little Soldiers and help us surpass the £31,000 mark.

"If you would like to contribute to Big Miles for Little Smiles, please reach out to Scottys and let them know that you would like to help raise the figure for this worthy cause."
