WAR veteran Mark Harding will be joining the Prime Minister for a Remembrance Day event.

Mark will be accompanied by other soldiers as they march towards Downing Street.

He explained that he is extremely proud to be involved in such an event and also to have been invited by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Mark, who is from Wigton, served in the armed forces until he was critically injured.

Whilst serving in Afghanistan in 2010 Mark was shot and his spine was severely damaged.

He was told that he'd never walk again but has now regained some of his mobility.

Mr Harding said: "As a soldier who has experienced injury, this invitation holds a deeply personal significance for me, as it serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave servicemen and women.

"Surrounded by my fellow soldiers, who have walked the same arduous path and faced the same sacrifices in service to our beloved country, I am truly inspired and humbled.

"Shoulder to shoulder, we will march towards Downing Street, our scars and wounds acting as testaments to our unwavering resilience and indomitable bravery, speaking volumes of the strength of our military.

"This exceptional opportunity to honor Remembrance Day alongside the Prime Minister is an indescribable privilege. It is a moment where we can pay homage to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, ensuring the preservation of our freedom and safety.

"Their selflessness and unwavering dedication deserve not only our eternal gratitude but also our unwavering commitment to upholding their legacy.
