Carlisle Housing Association has given almost £400,000 in community projects since April.
The grants have been handed to organisations striving to improve life in CHA neighbourhoods.
The main themes of the projects have been attempts to tackle unemployment and poverty.
Carlisle and District Credit Union received £80,000 out of the Community Investment Fund pot and more than £100,000 went towards providing activities and facilities for children.
Among the groups to benefit was The Rock (Currock Youth Project), which has 120 members.
Chairman the Rev Alan Jones said: “CHA has provided funding which has enabled The Rock to provide a safe, warm and fun place for many of the young people of Currock to go.”
CHA neighbourhood regeneration officer Tracy Andrew added: “It is rewarding helping develop initiatives that will have a positive effect on our communities.
“We are always looking for groups with ideas and would love to hear from anyone out there who has a project that we can help with.”
