ONE of the highlights of Nick’s tour, which ended last weekend, was being given key responsibility for the security which surrounded a visit from US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama earlier in the summer.
Key role: Nick Kennon was given key responsibility for the security surrounding a visit from US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama
He said: “The helicopter pad was sited between the inner security fence and the outer security fence and we had to make sure the whole thing went off smoothly.
“It was a big responsibility. I was introduced to Obama and he seemed a very congenial guy. He had been very well briefed about the whole situation which is hardly surprising. He could become the most powerful man in the world next January.”
