WORKINGTON’S latest clothing boutique is open for business.
The Oxford Street boutique, Glitz, features up-and-coming fashion labels.
Owners Charlotte Brown and Mark Johnson have been amazed at the business they have seen within the first few days of opening.
“We’ve only been open a few days but have been surprised at the level of business the shop has created,” Charlotte, 30, said.
“The shop’s excellent location has something to do with it, but the fact we have clothing from designers popular with celebrities is another big pull.”
The couple, who live above the shop, acquired stock from top designers Elsa Haag and Kate Fearnley who are wowing the celebrity circuit with innovative designs.
Handmade dresses from Middlesbrough designer Kate Fearnley have been worn by the likes of Girls Aloud, and the catwalk collections from Elsa Haag include celebrity styles popular with Victoria Beckham and Scarlett Johansson.
“With everyone hooked on celebrity cult I think selling top brands will offer much more choice for our customers,” Charlotte added.
Mark, 32, who is also a DJ, shares the running of the boutique and says having top designs in menswear had helped to attract customers.
