RESIDENTS in Copeland can now pick up advice on housing issues from their local libraries.
Copeland Homes has donated a batch of reference books, worth more than £1,000, offering a range of information on housing services to library users.
The books, including titles such as Resident Involvement, Housing Jargon and Landlord and Tenant, are registered on the library systems and will be available from libraries in Whitehaven, Cleator Moor, Egremont and Millom. People will also be able to sign them out and read them at home.
Caroline Durkin, Copeland Homes’ resident involvement officer, said: “We think it is important for everyone to have access to independent information about their tenancies and other housing-related subjects.”
“These books will mean that people can find out what they need to know at their leisure.”
Reference sheets from The Tenant Participatory Advisory Service on diverse topics such as energy efficiency, fundraising and anti-social behaviour are also available from libraries in Copeland.
