Gourmet barbecue
Last updated 09:21, Saturday, 02 August 2008
THE Alston Moor Business Association is reviving its annual gourmet barbecue tonight.
One of the main features is hot smoking choice cuts of meat and fish in an American pit-smoker.
Barbecued rib-eye steak cooked in a Charentais style, barbecued chicken thighs in a West Indian lime and spice marinade, smoked pork fillet in a Chinese herb and spice marinade and local sausages served with Cumberland mustard are all on the menu.
The highly popular barbecues used to take place at Gossipgate Gallery but this year the event will be staged at Alston House Hotel and gardens tonight
Starting at 7.30pm, tickets cost £12.50 for AMBA members, £15.00 for non-members and are available from Alston House (01434 382200) and Alston Wholefoods (01434 381588).
