CUMBRIA’S real ale pub of the year has been named as the Manor Arms in Broughton-in-Furness.
The pub beat off challenges from the Pheasant Inn at Cumwhitton, the Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater, and the Old Dungeon Ghyll.
The Manor Arms was awarded the title by members of the county branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and now represents the county in the West Pennines Region competition.
The winner of that goes on to the national CAMRA pub of the year contest.
This year’s Whitehaven Beer Festival will be held on November 21 and 22.
