Save £50 off your shopping bill

WE have teamed up with Lidl to offer you the chance to beat rising food prices and the credit crunch.

Your News & Star Food page is giving FOUR lucky readers the chance to win £50 worth of shopping at the best value for money supermarket in the country. The store was awarded the title by consumer magazine Which?

No-frills discount supermarkets have become more and more popular in recent years, with Lidl leading the way. Which? judges said the store scored more highly for overall customer satisfaction that the ‘big four’ supermarkets Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

The judges said: “For pricing, it gained the highest score of all the retailers in our survey, being rated excellent or very good by 79 per cent of shoppers.

“Customers say Lidl’s products are excellent value. It may not stock all the brands that you’re used to, but, as one customer told us: ‘If you are willing to experiment, the pricing is excellent.’”

The company has stores in Carlisle, Whitehaven and Dumfries, but the free shopping vouchers can only be used in the Charlotte Street supermarket in Carlisle.

For a chance of winning, answer this question:

What percentage of shoppers in the Which? survey rated Lidl as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’?
