Chocolate digestive is favourite biscuit

Sweet-toothed Brits have named the chocolate digestive their favourite biscuit of all time. The accolade comes just days after the McVitie’s chocolate-coated treat was revealed as the boardroom biscuit of choice for the nation’s businessmen.
Another McVitie’s variety, the Chocolate Hobnob, and good old-fashion Walkers Shortbread completed the top three.
Custard Creams and Bourbon Creams – two favourites produced at the McVitie’s factory in Carlisle – were voted fifth and sixth respectively.
While Water Biscuits, made famous by Carr’s, came in 19th.
A spokesman for McVitie’s owners United Biscuits said: “We are delighted that our biscuits continue to be consumers’ favourites.”
The survey of 5,000 people, by online market research company onepoll.com, saw chocolate varieties dominate the top 10.
The poll also proved that once we have chosen our favourites we tend to stick with them, as one in six admitted to buying the same biscuits for 20 years.
