The Jim Cartwright play – entitled Two – has 14 characters and yet only two actors.

Dreamshed Theatre are performing it at Rosehill as part of their UK tour on Saturday, September 27.

Set in a Northern pub, it follows an evening’s events as seen through the eyes of the pubgoers and the beleaguered landlord and landlady. The play features 14 diverse characters some endearing, some to be wary of and others just intriguing – all of which you will recognise as people you know, met or have seen before in your local pub.

Incorporating humour and bleak sadness, it is said to have fascinated audiences since its first showing in 1989.

Is Ofsted right to crack down on boring teaching?

Yes, young minds need to be stimulated to encourage a love of learning.

No, I had to put up with lessons that make you go to sleep - so kids these days should too.

Haven't they got more important things to do?
