Angling club under the spotlight

Club: Carlisle and district course angling club

Formed: 1998

Based: Crofton Lake, near Thursby

Contact: Bob Irving, club secretary, 07752 629664

Members: More than 200. Around 40 are aged under-16

Age of members: All ages from schoolkids right up to pensioners.

Aims for future: To buy Crofton Lake so that we can improve it. At the minute we only lease it.

Values: To encourage all ages to take part in course fishing. If we can continue to attract as many youngsters as we are now we'll be quite happy because they're the lifeblood of the club.

Vote

Is it a miracle or a crime against nature that a man has given birth to a baby?

Miracle - any new life should be welcomed into the world

Crime against nature - the child will always be labelled a freak

It's not really anyone else's business
