Hensingham are still in the E Lamb & Son Amateur Cup - after winning a nail-biting thriller with Glasson Rangers.
The Whitehaven side travelled to Maryport and edged through by just one point at the final whistle.
Hensingham had the advantage at the break thanks to a first half try but the home side hit back after the restart to lead 14-8.
Then up stepped Mark Pearson with a drop-goal that was to prove crucial at the end of the clash. Hensingham followed that up with a converted try to clinch the game 15-14.
Gavin Maudling, Kurt Maudling and Reece Fox were the try scorers for Hensingham with a conversion from Kurt Maudling to wrap up the scoring.
Glasson also bagged three tries, courtesy of Adam Tinnion, Greg Rowley and Lee Morgan, while Lee Taylor tagged on one goal.
Maryport joined them in the next round as they brought Cockermouth’s dream crashing round their ears with a 30-18 victory.
Jonathan Dawes and Daniel Rooney caused some damage for Maryport with a brace of tries apiece, while Callum Robinson, John Dollochin and Malcolm McMullen also touched down.
Miguel Blanco-Charters was on target with three goals to round off the scoring.
Cockermouth could not continue their form that saw them bag their first league win last weekend but they still crossed for three tries courtesy of Gavin Howarth, Ryan Burns and Matthew Nawrockyj. Richard Bowes also landed three goals.
Broughton Red Rose eased past Distington to reach the next round of the competition with a 32-16 scoreline.
Broughton played to their strengths at home and rattled up a 24-6 interval lead to put them in a commanding position.
And they withstood a second half rally from Distington to hang on and claim the spoils.
Broughton shared the tries across the park with Paul Osborne, Richard Campbell, Mark Walker, Wayne Bell and Philip Hewitt all touching down. Walker then added to his personal tally and his team’s with five conversions and a penalty goal.
Nicky Cooke, Nick Burgess and Clayton Sutton were the try scorers for Distington with Sutton also adding two goals.
Kells had a much easier passage as their opponents Ellenborough handed them a walkover when they could not raise a team due to illness in the squad.
Turning to the John Smiths Cumberland League and there were five matches scheduled in division two but only four went ahead.
The clash at Great Clifton where the Lions were due to entertain Kells A was called off due to an unfit pitch.
Lowca kept up their fine form, with a 42-2 victory over visitors Egremont Rangers.
Egremont had the first word in the match when Matt Bewsher slotted over a penalty goal but it was to be the last time they got on the scoresheet.
Lee Morgan was in fine form for Lowca as he rattled up a first half hat-trick of tries, scoring in the 14th minute, then twice in the final five minutes of the half.
Carl Robinson and Lee Allen also crossed the whitewash in the opening 40 minutes as Lowca took a 28-2 lead.
After the break Kyle Shackley, Tony Tinkler and David Scott continued the winning ways with tries for the home side and Gary Johnson was on target with all but one of his eight conversion attempts.
Frizington faced a tough opening half of their home encounter with a resurgent Flimby, just six points separating the two sides in Frizington’s favour.
But the home side came through strongly in the second period to clinch the match 22-0 and keep their visitors from breaking their defence down.
John Fowler, Sean Dixon, Peter Fowler and Andrew Johnson touched down for Frizington, with Wayne Burns picking up three goals.
Another tight first half came at Maryport A, where they entertained Lowca’s second string.

Lowca’s points came through tries for Gary Earl, Graham Lowry and Craig Dolan, with a Nick Anderson conversion.
Salterbeck A also collected the points when they took on Seaton A and came out 36-20 victors.
