Rugby TRAINING CAMPS

A COUPLE of special training camps are being staged in Cumbria ahead of the new season.

Newcastle Falcons will be based at Carlisle RUFC later this month, and then in August a brand new coaching company aimed at improving the quality of playing and coaching at club rugby will be at Aspatria.

The Newcastle Falcons course includes coaching from qualified CRB checked Falcons staff and player visits from Falcons first team squad .

Everyone gets a Premiership Rugby Academy T-shirt and a certificate signed by the Falcons stars, while there will be an opportunity for question and Answer sessions with the players.

The first three days – Monday, July 21 to Wednesday, July 23 (10am to 3pm) are for the 7-12 year-olds and the cost is £75. On Wednesday and Thursday (July 23/24), the sessions are at the same times for 13-18 year-olds and the cost is £50.

A rugbyperformance.co.uk Rugby Camp is scheduled to take place at the Aspatria club from August 20-24. The camp will include coaching sessions from former international players, Mattie Stewart (Scotland and Northampton), Kati Tuipolotu (Neath and Tonga, pictured alongside), and Nathan Mcavoy (Great Britain, Bradford Bulls).

There will also be a wrestling for rugby element to the camp to teach close contact skills, delivered by Ian Bramley, a renowned MMA coach.

EAS Sports Nutrition will instruct about the correct use of supplements for young people and also deliver a presentation on Nutrition.

Head coach on the camp is Chris Chudleigh who ran the Sky Sports programme ‘School of Hard Knocks’ on ‘The Rugby Club’.

Aspatria is running a taster day ahead of the camp on Saturday, July 26 from 10-30am to 12-30pm. Every child will receive a high quality training T Shirt and the cost of the five-day course is £60.
