Kells’ Super Mac will only play one session

EX-WORKINGTON Town prop Allan McGuiness is a doubt for Kells ahead of tonight’s Cumberland Cup final against Seaton.

He has been plagued by a groin/stomach problem which means he can start a game but is able to complete only one session.

Coach Peter Smith said: “He can play for two, 20 or 60 minutes, but he can only do the one spell, because when he comes off, the injury tightens. He will be a big miss, but we have adequate cover.”

In-form Carl Schofield will miss out due to a knock, but ex-Haven forward Craig Chambers comes in to contention.

“We don’t want to end the season without a trophy, but Seaton will be smarting after losing to Ellenborough last week,” Smith added. “We must be on our toes.”

The final, sponsored by SJR Building Contractors, kicks off at 7pm, at Maryport ARLFC.
