This final could be so boring

“IF you ask me if we can surprise each other, I say no, because we have played them so many times over the last year and both teams haven’t changed much.”

Cech: ‘No surprises’

Well no one could ever accuse Chelsea keeper Petr Cech of whipping us all up into a frenzy ahead of his side’s Champions League final clash with Manchester United tonight.

Something tells me the all-English final is not going to live up to its billing as the game of games.

A nervy contest? Probably.

A tight game between two teams who know each other so well? Almost definitely.

Then added to that are concerns over the state of the newly-laid pitch before European club football's showpiece occasion, and you just know there’s no way it can live up to the hype.
